HVAC Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. System Engineering & Calculations

• Perform calculations independently for: HVAC, chilled water, cooling water, compressed air, engine exhaust, ACS, DM, RO, lube, coolant, fuel.
• Carry out pipe sizing and tank sizing.
• Communicate with customers to discuss and close calculation-related points.
• Guide junior team members.

3. P&ID Development

• Prepare P&ID for complete facility systems (chilled water, cooling water, HVAC, etc.).
• Collaborate with team members and guide juniors.
• Discuss and finalize requirements with customers.

3. BOM / RFQ / QAP

• Prepare BOM from P&ID independently.
• Support juniors in BOM preparation.
• Draft RFQs for material procurement and liaise with suppliers.
• Prepare QAPs in consultation with Quality and Suppliers.

4. Layout & Design

• Develop facility layouts up to LOD 350.
• Conduct regular reviews with Team Leaders.
• Extract and interpret technical specifications from manuals/catalogs to align with functional system requirements.

5. Customer & Supplier Interaction

• Coordinate with customers and suppliers for design inputs and layout implementation.
• Handle supplier interactions independently.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare specifications, DBRs (Design Brief Reports), and customer/internal documentation.
• Create professional PowerPoint presentations for clear communication.
• Maintain detailed calculation sheets and schedules in Excel.
• Work with SAP (eCl@ss / Material Master Data) for documentation.

7. Software Skills

• Solidworks / Revit

• Expert knowledge of Solidworks / Revit tools.
• Perform load analysis, create layout assemblies, and prepare detailed installation drawings.
• Support and guide junior team members.

• AutoCAD / DraftSight

• Create/modify DWG drawings & P&IDs independently.
• Proficient in layers, blocks, and drafting best practices.

Additional Skills

• Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, manufacturing drawings, and production processes.
• Experience in product design and development processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with minimal support.
• Strong mentoring ability for junior engineers.
