Housekeeping Supervisor

Functional Responsibilities

· General

1) You shall report to the Housekeeping Manager.

· Supervision & Daily Operations

1) Supervise and manage housekeeping staff across assigned areas (wards, OPDs, ICUs, OTs, etc.).

2) Allocate daily duties and schedules to ensure proper coverage, including shift rotations and replacements.

3) Ensure cleaning and sanitization tasks are completed as per defined protocols and timelines.

· Compliance with NABH & Infection Control Standards

1) Enforce and monitor adherence to NABH, infection control, and hospital hygiene standards.

2) Ensure proper segregation and disposal of biomedical waste, and use of color-coded cleaning materials as per infection control guidelines.

3) Coordinate with the Infection Control Officer (ICO) for regular audits and corrective actions.

· Quality Assurance

1) Conduct regular inspections of patient rooms, OTs, ICUs, and common areas to verify cleanliness.

2) Monitor disinfection schedules, especially for high-risk zones such as isolation units and operation theatres.

3) Take immediate corrective measures on hygiene deficiencies or complaints.

· Staff Management & Training

1) Supervise performance, grooming, attendance, and behaviour of housekeeping staff.

2) Conduct regular training sessions on cleaning techniques, hospital protocols, safety measures, and infection control.

3) Mentor new staff and ensure all team members understand emergency response protocols.

· Resource & Inventory Oversight

1) Monitor the usage and stock of cleaning agents, PPE, disinfectants, and linen.

2) Ensure timely requisition and prevent wastage of housekeeping materials.

3) Maintain cleanliness and functionality of housekeeping equipment.

· Coordination & Communication

1) Coordinate with nursing staff, ward in-charges, laundry, and maintenance teams for seamless operations.

2) Communicate effectively with staff regarding updates, duties, and feedback.

3) Handle service complaints related to housekeeping and resolve issues promptly.

· Documentation & Reporting

1) Maintain checklists, duty rosters, cleaning logs, and inspection records as per NABH documentation norms.

2) Report incidents, shortages, or unusual findings to the Housekeeping or Facility Manager.

· Job Knowledge: Proficient enough in both the Technical & Functional levels for the given role. Conceptual skills and understanding of Business model are utmost important. Shall know the practices in Industry widely followed from time to time.

· The Housekeeping Supervisor’s role is vital in delivering & maintaining high-quality patient care.

· Take ownership of all the duties that you are responsible for at your workplace.

In addition to the above mentioned duties and job functions any other assignment given by the immediate superior or the management will have to be carried out.

Pay: Up to ₹25,000.00 per month
