Job Description

You are actively hiring for the position of Head of Department for Fashion & Textiles specialization at Parul Institute of Design in Vadodara. As the HOD, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, academic leadership, and operational oversight for the Fashion Design department. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and articulate a clear academic vision and strategic plan for the Design department/program, aligning with the university's overall mission and strategic goals. - Lead, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the Design department/program, fostering their professional growth and development in teaching, research, and service. - Oversee the development, review, and revision of the design curriculum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and academic best practices. - Provide student advising and mentorship programs, support student-led initiatives, design competitions, and extracurricular activities. - Promote and support research activities within the Design department/program, encouraging faculty and student participation in research projects and scholarly activities. **Qualifications:** - A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Design or a closely related field. - Significant experience in teaching at the university level, with a demonstrated commitment to pedagogical innovation and student success. - Strong understanding of current trends and challenges in design education and practice. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict management, and collaborative skills with an analytical mindset.
