Position:- Head of Department - Fashion & Textiles

Location: Vadodara

We are actively hiring for the post of Head of Department for Fashion & Textiles specialization.

HOD shall be responsible for providing strategic direction, academic leadership, and operational oversight for the Fashion Design department.

Roles and Responsibilities:-

The HOD will be responsible for curriculum development, program accreditation, faculty development, research promotion, and fostering strong connections with the design industry and the wider academic community.

Academic Leadership and Vision:

Develop and articulate a clear academic vision and strategic plan for the Design department/program, aligning with the university's overall mission and strategic goals.

Faculty Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the Design department/program, fostering their professional growth and development in teaching, research, and service through faculty research activities, grant applications, and scholarly publications.

Curriculum Development and Management:

Oversee the development, review, and revision of the design curriculum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and academic best practices.

Student Engagement and Support:

Oversee student advising and mentorship programs.

Support student-led initiatives, design competitions, and extracurricular activities through internships, guest lectures, and portfolio reviews.

Research and Innovation:

Promote and support research activities within the Design department/program.

Encourage faculty and student participation in research projects and scholarly activities.

Qualifications:

1. A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Design or a closely related field.

2. Significant experience in teaching at the university level, with a demonstrated commitment to pedagogical innovation and student success.

3. A strong understanding of current trends and challenges in design education and practice.

4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict management and collaborative skills with analytical mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant Experience in Fashion Design with minimum experience of 8 years. Experience with online and blended learning modalities.
