The Role: Headmaster
The Headmaster will serve as the strategic, academic, and cultural leader of Harrow Bengaluru — entrusted with shaping its evolving identity while maintaining fidelity to the values of the Harrow Family of Schools. Reporting to the Governing Body and working closely with Harrow School (UK) and global Harrow leaders, the Headmaster will guide the school’s ascent to become one of the top 1% international schools globally.This is a unique leadership opportunity for a distinguished school head who thrives on building legacies, fostering innovation, and developing vibrant communities grounded in tradition, purpose, and excellence.
KEY AREAS OF LEADERSHIP
Strategic Vision and Leadership
- Define and execute the school’s long-term vision, aligning with Harrow’s global ethos and academic benchmarks.
- Represent the school at the highest strategic levels — including the Governing Body, Amity Group leadership, and the international Harrow network.
- Champion a culture of ambition, purpose, and continuous improvement.
Academic Excellence and Innovation
- Deliver world-class education through the seamless integration of British and IB curricula.
- Maintain a sharp focus on outstanding teaching and learning, nurturing curiosity, independence, and critical thinking.
- Lead the co-curricular and pastoral programmes as vital pillars of the Harrow experience.
Operational & Financial Stewardship
- Oversee the daily functioning of the school with professionalism and poise.
- Work in partnership with the Board and senior leaders to ensure efficient, compliant, and future-ready operations.
- Drive sustainable growth without compromising the integrity or intimacy of the school culture.
Faculty Leadership and Development
- Attract, retain, and inspire world-class educators who embody the Harrow spirit.

Safeguarding and Student Wellbeing

- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and SLT to embed a safe, respectful, and inclusive ethos.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
- A proven track record as Head or Deputy Head of a leading international or boarding school.
- Extensive experience with British and/or IB curricula.
- Demonstrated success in scaling academic and operational performance.
- Experience working in multicultural settings with diverse student populations.
