Job Overview:

Head of Distribution Sales

This leadership role demands a strategic thinker who can build and scale distribution channels, drive revenue growth, and manage high-performing teams across geographies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute the national distribution sales strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Create short-term and long-term sales plans with clear KPIs and growth targets.
  • Define pricing, margin, and promotional strategies to optimize sell-in and sell-through.
  • Distribution Network Management:

  • Identify, appoint, and onboard distributors and channel partners in untapped and strategic markets.
  • Strengthen and expand the distribution footprint across urban and rural markets.
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, ensuring loyalty, transparency, and performance.
  • Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of regional/zonal sales managers and field executives.
  • Set clear objectives, provide coaching, and monitor performance across all levels.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between sales, supply chain, and marketing teams.
  • Market Development:

  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior.
  • Drive demand generation activities and retail development in coordination with marketing teams.
  • Innovate distribution strategies to penetrate new markets and drive revenue in existing territories.
  • Operations & Reporting:

  • Ensure timely forecasting, inventory planning, and order fulfillment through the distribution channel.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Monitor distributor ROI, credit limits, and adherence to company policies.


Key Requirements:

  • Experience:

  • Minimum 

    10–15 years

     of sales experience in the 

    footwear industry

    , with at least 

    5 years in a senior distribution leadership role

    .
  • Proven experience in setting up and scaling distribution networks pan-India.
  • Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of footwear industry dynamics and distribution models.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
