Role Purpose

This is a senior operational leadership role for a “hands-on manufacturing leader” who can oversee and optimise design, vendor management, shop-floor operations, and quality to meet primarily export requirements. The role demands technical depth, process discipline, and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach to execution.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership

• Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations from design to dispatch
• Ensure smooth coordination between design, procurement, shop floor, and quality functions
• Drive operational efficiency, cost control, and productivity improvement initiatives

2. Design & Engineering Oversight

• Guide the design team to ensure manufacturability, cost optimisation, and alignment with international standards
• Work closely with customers and internal teams to adapt products for export markets

3. Vendor & Supply Chain Management

• Develop and manage a robust vendor base for both local and global sourcing
• Negotiate contracts, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain quality consistency

4. Shop Floor Management

• Lead daily production planning and execution
• Ensure proper utilisation of manpower, machinery, and materials
• Implement Lean manufacturing and 5S practices

5. Quality Assurance

• Establish and enforce quality standards for both domestic and export products
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and international norms
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes

6. Growth & Globalisation

• Prepare the manufacturing function for scale-up to meet international demand
• Drive process certifications (ISO, CE, etc.) where required

Candidate Profile

Must Have:

• A startup mindset with proactive approach and complete accountability
• Ability to thrive in high paced environment
• 10-15 years’ experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in material handling equipment, or process equipment
• Exposure to stainless steel fabrication and welding processes
• Proven track record in operational leadership and process improvements
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
• Solid grounding in engineering fundamentals from a premium institute
• Hands-on approach with the ability to be on the shop floor daily

Good to Have:

• Experience in exports or products for international markets
• Familiarity with ERP systems and digital manufacturing tools
• Lean/Six Sigma certification
