We’re seeking a senior engineering leader who can architect and drive the evolution of our hardware systems — bringing together electronics, embedded software, mechanical design, and intelligent automation.

Role Overview

Head of Hardware Systems & Emerging Technologies

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Product Development

• Define system-level hardware architecture for new Smartbox devices and emerging automation platforms.
• Select and integrate processors, sensors, cameras, communication modules, and power systems.
• Oversee schematic design, PCB layout, firmware coordination, and mechanical integration.
• Ensure scalability, manufacturability, and global compliance across designs.

Leadership & Execution

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team (electronics, mechanical, firmware, testing).
• Collaborate with internal and external design partners for PCB and enclosure development.
• Drive rapid prototyping, field validation, and iterative improvement cycles.
• Manage vendor relationships, BOM optimization, and component sourcing.

Quality & Compliance

• Establish hardware testing, reliability, and certification standards (CE, FCC, UL, BIS).
• Implement design reviews, documentation, and change-management processes.
• Champion safety, durability, and long-term reliability in every design.

Innovation & Future Technologies

• Explore and integrate new technologies — edge AI, sensors, robotics, and camera systems—into Smartbox products.
• Translate business goals into scalable engineering solutions and tangible product outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10–18 years of experience designing and shipping 

  embedded or IoT hardware products

  .
• Proven expertise in 

  embedded electronics

  , sensors, power systems, and connectivity (Wi-Fi, BLE, Ethernet, LTE).
• Exposure to 

  edge computing or vision systems

   (e.g., Jetson, Raspberry Pi, STM32, ESP32).
• Knowledge of 

  firmware development

   and integration with cloud platforms.
• Experience coordinating 

  mechanical and thermal design

   for enclosures or outdoor products.
• Strong background in 

  prototype-to-production transition

  , vendor coordination, and quality control.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Tools & Platforms

Altium / KiCAD, SolidWorks / Fusion 360, Jetson Orin / Xavier, Raspberry Pi 5, STM32, ESP32, OpenCV (for integration), Linux, Python / C++, MQTT, REST APIs.
