Head of Embedded Solutions (IoT)
to lead the design, development, and deployment of next-generation embedded and IoT solutions. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in
hardware, firmware, and communication protocols
, capable of driving end-to-end IoT product development — from concept and prototyping to mass production.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with
ESP32, EC200U, LoRa, Bluetooth, MQTT, and E-Metering systems
, along with a solid understanding of embedded architecture, power management, and connectivity in low-power environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage the embedded solutions and IoT engineering teams, overseeing hardware and firmware development lifecycles. Define the roadmap, architecture, and delivery milestones for IoT product lines.
- Hardware Development: Design and review embedded hardware circuits and PCBs using microcontrollers like ESP32 and communication modules such as EC200U and LoRa. Ensure high reliability, scalability, and low-power performance for all hardware designs.
- Firmware Engineering: Architect and implement robust firmware for IoT devices using C/C++, FreeRTOS, and microcontroller SDKs. Optimize for performance, security, and power efficiency.
- IoT Connectivity & Protocols: Integrate multiple communication protocols including MQTT, LoRa, Bluetooth, and cellular (4G/LTE) for seamless IoT data transmission and remote device management.
- Product Development & E-Metering: Lead development efforts for smart E-metering solutions, focusing on accurate data capture, remote monitoring, and energy efficiency. Implement secure communication between devices and the cloud.
- Cloud & Integration: Collaborate with software and cloud teams to integrate embedded systems with IoT platforms, ensuring reliable data flow and end-to-end device control.
- Battery & Power Optimization: Design power-efficient embedded systems with expertise in battery management, charging circuits, and energy harvesting for IoT devices deployed in remote environments.
- Testing & Validation: Establish test frameworks for hardware validation, firmware QA, and field trials. Ensure all products meet compliance, EMI/EMC, and safety standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, software engineers, and manufacturing teams to align product requirements, scalability goals, and delivery timelines.
- R&D & Innovation: Drive research into emerging IoT technologies, including edge computing, low-power networking, and AI-driven embedded intelligence.
Required Skills And Experience
- Experience: Minimum 8+ years in embedded systems or IoT development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, EC200U)
- Hands-on experience with LoRa, Bluetooth, MQTT, and 4G/LTE communication protocols
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and embedded firmware development
- Experience with E-Metering systems, sensors, and low-power hardware design
- Familiarity with IoT cloud integration (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, etc.)
- Tools & Platforms: Hands-on with hardware design tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle), debugging tools (JTAG, Logic Analyzers), and communication testing equipment.
- Leadership: Proven ability to mentor engineering teams, manage R&D roadmaps, and deliver products in fast-paced environments.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
