Job Overview

  • A leading IT consulting and digital transformation firm is seeking a Director of Business Operations to establish, lead, and scale India operations. This role will be a senior decision-making position, driving operational excellence, workflow automation, and alignment with global US processes. The candidate will manage a team of operations and finance professionals, ensure smooth client engagement, and support strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

People & Culture:
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract top IT and operations talent.
  • Manage operations, development, and back-office teams, fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Champion employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Create a culture of accountability, empowerment, and psychological safety.
  • Operational Excellence & Workflow Automation:
  • Head the India office, overseeing day-to-day operations and decision-making.
  • Implement operational objectives across quality, timeliness, and productivity.
  • Build scalable office infrastructure, systems, and processes.
  • Lead workflow automation initiatives to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Establish performance, quality, and compliance frameworks.

Strategic Execution & Client Engagement

  • Partner with US leadership to execute strategic initiatives and support service delivery.
  • Serve as a client-facing executive representing India operations.
  • Align India teams with US Centers of Excellence, automated workflows, and global processes.
  • Provide operational insights for corporate strategy and transformation projects.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Collaborate with MD, Finance, and Operations to manage site budgets.
  • Track KPIs and metrics to drive efficiency, scalability, and operational improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and automation.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 12–14 years total experience, with 7+ years building India teams for US-based IT consulting firms.
  • Experience in business functions such as HR Operations, Finance, Marketing, or Business Operations (non-technical).
  • Strong track record of managing US stakeholders and client-facing engagements.
  • Proven ability to set up scalable processes, track KPIs, and build organizational culture.
  • Executive presence, strategic thinking, and operational expertise.
  • Experience in small-to-mid-sized IT consulting or GCC tech setups (30–150 people) during early growth stages.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Tech-savvy with interest in automation and digital tools.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial or fast-paced environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance, performance management systems, and workflow automation.
