ABOUT THE BUSINESS:


Tata Electronics Private Limited is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

KEY DELIVERABLES:


Build a Comprehensive Design Ecosystem supporting TEPL’s Foundry Offerings:

  • Business Strategy Development:

    Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy to identify and engage with potential design ecosystem partners across TCAD, EDA/TFM, Design IP, and Design Services, with the objective to deliver world-class Foundry Design Platforms for our customers
  • Conduct thorough analysis of design ecosystem landscape to shortlist the most suitable partners for strategic partnerships
  • Should be able to drive a ‘make Vs Buy’ strategy for an upcoming foundry like TEPL and ensure the cost-optimization for IP portfolio.
  • Lead the engagement and negotiation process, from concept to final deal closure addressing critical commercial terms, timelines, and other key business requirements
  • Should drive the potential IP/Design services firms to deliver to the specs and able to work with key customers to customize the solutions for

Partner Outreach and Ecosystem Development

  • Evaluate and pursue partnership opportunities that strengthen the design ecosystem for Tata Electronics
  • He/she should drive with the mission of making Design Ecosystem a competitive strength of Tata Electronics’ Foundry offering

Market Intelligence

  • Leverage design ecosystem partner interactions to gain valuable insights on customer roadmap and sourcing strategy
  • Maintain pulse of the Design Ecosystem industry for latest innovations and drive first-mover advantage for Tata Electronics where applicable to create competitive differentiation
  • Provide actionable insights to inform Tata Electronics’ product and technology portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with evolving market demands


ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:


  • Industry Knowledge

    : Understanding of the semiconductor design industry and ecosystem partner offerings across TCAD, EDA, Design IP, and Design Services. Significant working experience and network with companies like Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens EDA, Arm, RISC-V, and other EDA/IP/Design Services providers. Expertise in deciphering Design Ecosystem industry trends.
  • Commercial Acumen

    : Demonstrated strong commercial knowledge and understanding to develop and establish partnership agreement frameworks effectively. Relevant past experience of formulating and signing business contracts.
  • Strong Negotiation Skills

    : Persuasive and influential, capable of negotiating and securing buy-in from diverse stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information.
  • Relationship Building

    : Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strong professional relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively partners.
  • Results-Oriented

    : Focused on achieving measurable outcomes and driving business growth. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Reach

    : He/She must have good knowledge about INDIA SEMICON eco-system and good network/reach to many start-ups, connection into Indian ISM eco systems is a plus. Ability to network and influence the ISM, IESA, VSI entities to map into Foundry eco-system for TEPL.


QUALIFICATION:

  • MBA + Engineering/Technical undergraduate degree


DESIRED LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE:

  • 20 years of experience in strategy and business development, Experience in the Semiconductor Industry and particularly intimate involvement with the Design Ecosystem is a must
