Head - Cargo Logistics Park


JOB PURPOSE & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES


Key Responsibilities:


Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee daily cargo handling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality processes.
  • Develop and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, with a strong focus on safety, security, and quality standards.


Customs Compliance:

  • Manage and streamline all customs-related processes and procedures within the cargo division.
  • Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations and oversee compliance with import and export requirements.
  • Collaborate with customs authorities to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to customs procedures.


Trade Partner Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trade partners, airlines, and business collaborators.
  • Identify and address customer requirements, concerns, and feedback to enhance service quality.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities and secure new business partnerships.


Engagement with Airport Operators:

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with airport operators and authorities.
  • Collaborate with airport operators to optimize cargo handling processes and infrastructure.
  • Ensure the implementation of industry best practices in airport operations.


Safety, Security, and Quality Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce safety, security, and quality control measures in cargo operations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security protocols in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and audits to ensure the highest standards of cargo handling.


Financial Management:

  • Manage the overall budget for the Cargo Services division, with a focus on controlling operating costs and maximizing cost efficiency across all functions.
  • Drive rental income growth by overseeing space utilization, tenant acquisition, and lease management strategies wrt ECT,LP etc.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that enhance core business profitability while leveraging non-operational revenue opportunities.
  • Regularly monitor revenue streams and expenditure trends, initiating corrective actions to address variances.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including tenants, vendors, and government agencies to support sustainable financial outcomes.


Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of cargo professionals, including managers, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Provide guidance and support for employee development, performance evaluations, and talent acquisition.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders on cargo operations, customs compliance, trade partner relations, airport operator engagement, and safety, security, and quality compliance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth.


Technology and Innovation:

  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation to improve cargo handling processes and enhance safety, security, and quality compliance.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements and recommend technology investments that can enhance efficiency and compliance.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum –Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Any professional qualification related to airport ground operations/aviation would be an advantage

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • At least 12 years of experience in cargo operations
  • Experience in resource (manpower) management
  • Able to learn and develop new skills
