Job Title: Head – Business Development (Lithium-ion Battery & Inverter Division)

Location: Salem

Department: Business Development / Sales & Marketing

Reports To: CEO / Managing Director

Role Overview:

The Head of Business Development will be responsible for driving growth, building strategic partnerships, and expanding the company’s presence in the Lithium-ion battery and inverter market. This role requires strong industry knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities in renewable energy, electric mobility, power backup, and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and market share targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities in EVs, renewable energy storage, telecom, industrial, and residential inverter markets.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to shape business strategies.

2. Sales & Marketing Leadership

  • Drive sales pipeline development and ensure conversion of leads into long-term clients.
  • Build and manage key customer accounts and partnerships (OEMs, distributors, EPC contractors, government tenders, etc.).
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to strengthen brand positioning and lead generation.

3. Partnerships & Alliances

  • Establish strategic alliances with EV manufacturers, solar companies, and inverter OEMs.
  • Develop partnerships with government agencies and industry associations to influence policies and secure large-scale projects.

4. Team Management & Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development and sales team.
  • Set targets, monitor performance, and drive accountability.

5. Financial & Commercial Acumen

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing models, and commercial agreements to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor sales forecasts, budgets, and revenue performance.

6. Innovation & Product Development Support

  • Provide customer insights to R&D and product teams for new product launches and customization.
  • Stay updated on advancements in battery chemistries, inverter technologies, and storage solutions.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Lithium-ion battery technologies, inverters, and renewable energy ecosystems.
  • Proven track record in business development, strategic sales, and partnerships.
  • Excellent networking, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to drive B2B and B2C sales channels.
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / ECE/EEE/ Energy Management. MBA in Marketing would be an added advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or strategy roles in battery, inverter, renewable energy, or EV industry.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling business operations and managing high-value accounts.

  • Revenue growth and profitability.
  • Market share expansion in target segments.
  • Number of strategic partnerships and alliances formed.
  • Customer acquisition and retention rates.
  • Achievement of sales targets and project wins.
