We currently have an Intermediate Accountant position available with our client, Gooding Accounts. This role offers a unique opportunity to be the first team member based in India. You'll be working closely with a well-established team located in the UK. Job Purpose: Working as part of a collaborative team, the accountant will support the Client Portfolio Lead to deliver high-quality financial information to clients through the technical preparation of accounts and tax schedules, ensuring all work meets professional standards
Reporting To: Team Leader
Duties & Responsibilities
Accounts Preparation:

Prepare company accounts from client records, including processing invoices, bank statements, and receipts

Draft financial statements such as profit and loss accounts and balance sheets using accounting software

Ensure all accounts are accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant accounting standards and regulations

Submit prepared accounts for review and sign-off by Client Portfolio Lead
Personal Tax Support:
-
Assist in preparing personal tax returns, including gathering and organising relevant information from clients

Draft basic tax calculations, supporting the Client Manager and wider team in meeting personal tax deadlines
-
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive personal data
Team Collaboration:
-
Collaborate with other team members, including bookkeepers and tax specialists, to ensure accurate and smooth data flow and service delivery

Share information and support colleagues to meet collective deadlines.

Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment
Compliance and Quality Control:

Stay informed about relevant accounting standards and practice requirements

Apply quality control measures to ensure accuracy and completeness of all work

Adhere to internal processes for document management and data security
Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in accounts preparation and tax processes

Support the adoption of new tools and workflows to enhance efficiency
Reporting:

Provide regular updates to the Client Portfolio Lead or Client Manager on progress and any issues affecting delivery

Help manage workload to ensure all tasks are completed within set deadlines

Ideally, you will fit the following requirements/experience:

CA Inter, MBA Finance or any accounting degree

Minimum 3 years of experience in preparing company accounts for UK and 1 year of tax support experience is a must

Good understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
-
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work
