Job Description

Primary Title: Golang Backend Engineer

About The Opportunity

A fast-growing software product company operating in cloud-native backend systems and enterprise SaaS — building resilient, high-throughput APIs and microservices for business-critical applications. We are hiring an on-site Golang Backend Engineer in India to own backend services, optimise performance at scale, and deliver secure production systems.Role & Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and maintain production-grade backend services in Go (Golang) with a focus on scalability, reliability, and low latency.
  • Build and own microservices (REST/gRPC) including API contracts, data modelling, and service integrations across distributed systems.
  • Write clean, well-tested code—author unit/integration tests, run CI/CD pipelines, and participate in code reviews to maintain engineering quality.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and implement profiling, caching, and concurrency optimisations (goroutines, channels) to improve throughput and latency.
  • Containerise services using Docker and deploy/manage workloads on Kubernetes; collaborate on infrastructure-as-code and observability (metrics, logging, tracing).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA, and SRE teams to deliver features end-to-end and support production incidents.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years of professional experience building backend services in Go (Golang) for production systems.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency in Go (goroutines, channels), memory management, and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and/or gRPC, relational (Postgres/MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
  • Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git-based CI/CD pipelines, and Linux server environments.

Preferred

  • Experience with distributed tracing, Prometheus/Grafana metrics, and designing for observability and SLOs.
  • Familiarity with message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ), authentication/authorization patterns, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
