Role Overview:

The Head of Engineering COE will lead the organization’s engineering excellence initiatives, driving innovation, standardization, and best practices across all technology domains. This role requires a visionary leader with deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and proven experience in building and scaling engineering capabilities globally.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and execute the vision and roadmap for the Engineering Center of Excellence.
  • Align engineering strategies with organizational goals to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
  • Governance & Standards:

  • Establish engineering standards, frameworks, and best practices across development, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive adoption of modern architectures, tools, and methodologies (e.g., cloud-native, microservices, DevOps, AI/ML).
  • Innovation & Emerging Technologies:

  • Identify and integrate emerging technologies to enhance product and platform capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within engineering teams.
  • Pre-Sales & Solutioning:

  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams to provide technical leadership during pre-sales engagements.
  • Design and present innovative solutions to meet client requirements, ensuring feasibility and scalability.
  • Participate in RFP/RFI responses, solution architecture, and client workshops to drive business growth.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with business units, product teams, and technology leaders to ensure alignment and delivery excellence.
  • Represent engineering in executive forums and influence strategic decisions.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:

  • 16–20 years of progressive experience in software engineering, architecture, and technology leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale engineering transformations and COE initiatives.
  • Strong experience in pre-sales, solutioning, and client engagement.
  • Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), DevOps, and security frameworks.
  • Exposure to AI/ML, data engineering, and emerging tech trends.
  • Leadership Competencies:

  • Strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills.


Preferred Certifications:

  • TOGAF, SAFe, AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, PMP or equivalent leadership certifications.
