About The Role
As the Analyst – GBS STP Payment Monitoring and Audit, you will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of payments within the Source-to-Pay (STP) process. You will be responsible for monitoring payment proposals, validating payment runs, and applying internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.Your role will include reviewing payment batches for compliance, investigating anomalies, supporting duplicate payment prevention, and maintaining audit-ready documentation. You will also assist with GR/IR reconciliation and analyse payment trends to identify risks and recommend corrective actions. This position is critical to delivering accurate, compliant payments and mitigating financial risk across global operations.Your responsibilities
- Monitor daily payment proposals and validate payment runs against policy, approval thresholds, and control requirements
- Review payment batches for completeness and accuracy; investigate anomalies, blocked items, returned payments, and rejections to determine root causes
- Execute duplicate‑payment prevention checks and perform targeted reviews of high‑risk or high‑value payments
- Maintain audit‑ready documentation and evidence for key controls; ensure traceability from invoice to payment
- Support GR/IR reconciliation activities with a focus on payment risk and aging that could impact payment accuracy or timing
- Track and report payment control KPIs (e.g., exception rate, first‑pass yield, on‑time payment rate), highlighting trends and proposed corrective actions
- Raise issues and control breaches promptly to the Manager and document remediation steps and outcomes
- Use workflow, analytics, and automation tools to reduce manual interventions and improve exception handling
- Follow standard operating procedures and global STP policies, contributing updates where gaps or improvements are identified
The experience we're looking for
- 0–3 years of experience in payment monitoring, audit, Source-to-Pay (STP), Accounts Payable, or related finance operations
- Exposure to shared services or global process-driven environments preferred
- Working knowledge of payment lifecycle processes, including payment proposals, payment runs, and duplicate payment prevention
- Understanding of compliance requirements, internal controls, and audit readiness with strong attention to accuracy
- Familiarity with ERP systems and digital tools used for payment processing and exception handling
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to manage high-volume transactional activities while maintaining quality and timeliness
- Effective communication skills for documenting findings and reporting exceptions clearly
