Job Description

A Finance Executive with 1 to 2 years of experience typically holds a junior or entry-level role that focuses on core, day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This position supports senior staff by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with reporting and analysis.

​ Key Responsibilities

​The primary duties center on transactional accounting and foundational analysis:

​Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR):

​Processing invoices, receipts, and payments.

​Managing vendor and customer ledgers and ensuring timely collections.

​Bookkeeping & Record Keeping:

​Maintaining accurate financial records in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP).

​Performing data entry of financial transactions with high accuracy.

​Managing petty cash and employee reimbursement logs.

​Reconciliations:

​Preparing and performing bank reconciliations to match internal records with bank statements.

​Reconciling general ledger (GL) accounts and resolving discrepancies.

​Reporting Support:

​Assisting with the month-end and year-end closing activities.

​Supporting the preparation of financial statements and basic MIS reports (Management Information Systems).

​Providing financial data for management review.

​Compliance and Audit:

​Ensuring compliance with basic accounting standards and financial regulations (like GST in India).

​Assisting in gathering documentation and information for internal and external audits.

​Budgeting and Analysis (Basic):

​Supporting senior staff in gathering data for budget and forecast preparation.

​Conducting basic variance analysis to compare actual results with budgeted figures.

​✨ Required Skills and Qualifications

​A successful candidate for this level generally needs the following:

​Qualifications

​Education: Bachelor's degree (B.Com, BBA, or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

​Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance department.

​Technical Skills

​Accounting Principles: Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles (e.g., Double-entry system).

​Software Proficiency:

​Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are a must.

​Proficiency in accounting/ERP software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP).

​Soft Skills

​Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy is critical for processing transactions and maintaining ledgers.

​Analytical and Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve basic financial discrepancies and anomalies.

​Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendors/clients.

​Independence: Ability to manage daily tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
