The Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Global Engagement leads initiatives focused on achievement of global engagement, transnational education and the internationalisation strategy. The team works collaboratively across the University to progress global strategy and projects, global partnerships, global advocacy, developing and supporting global relationships with key stakeholders, such as government and industry leaders. It establishes strategic partnerships, transnational education programs, identifies global opportunities for UWA and maintains strong relationships with global education, research, public and private sector organisations worldwide.

Your role

The Finance and Supply Chain Manager is responsible to provide procurement and logistical support for on-ground activation as UWA establishes operations in India and the broader region. The role requires a combination of financial expertise with supply chain management skills to optimize the flow of goods and finance resources for UWA India Establishment and Operations. This role focuses on delivery efficient processes across a range of areas that underpin the delivery of the UWA India Operations around finance, logistics and procurement aligned to UWA policies and compliant with Indian regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities

• Work closely with departments in UWA such as procurement, logistics, operations to ensure alignment and effective communications throughout the supply chain.
• Provide logistical support for travel plans, programs, initiatives and events to support the UWA India Operations.
• Identify and implementing strategies to engage and negotiate with a wide range of vendors and suppliers across the region to deliver fit for purpose procurement.
• Undertake implementation of standard operating procedures for procurement of both Capital and Operating related expenditures.
• In collaboration with UWA Finance Team build up knowledge, standard operating procedures that comply with the Indian regulatory context.
• Together with the Project Director – UWA India Operations establish relevant budget packs, cash books and systems to enable effective payment systems for operations in India.
• Together with the Project Director – UWA India Operations navigate key regulations and policies that may impact UWA India Operations from a financial or supply chain perspective; and provide solutions to mitigate risk.
• Periodically analyse budget and support team on budget phasing to aim towards budget optimisation.
• Managing working capital effectively, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and efficient cash flow.
• Assessing and mitigating financial risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
• Support Project Director – UWA India Operations to implement key standard operating procedures across the relevant network.
• Develop financial plans and forecasts for supply chain operations, ensuring that UWA India has the resources needed to meet with demand and achieve its financial goals.
• Coordination and key liaison point for audit and other finance related requirements.
• Undertake other tasks and projects as directed.
