Finance Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, supporting budgeting activities, and providing insights to support business decisions.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop automated reporting processes and data pipelines (e.g., using Microsoft Fabric or similar tools) to deliver timely and accurate outputs for key stakeholders across all business functions
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models, ensuring accuracy, clarity, performance, and alignment with stakeholder needs.
• Extract, query, and validate raw data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, Fabric Lakehouse/Warehouse) to produce factual, reliable information.
• Support the Finance team in producing professional reports for board packs, monthly reviews, and senior management reporting (e.g. budgeting, P/L, Management Accounts)
• Identify market trends, changes in business volumes, and behavioural patterns to support forecasting and strategic planning.
• Maintain and track KPIs, ensuring they are accurately reflected in dashboards and communicated clearly to senior leadership.
• Provide expert advice on Power BI, data analysis, and reporting best practices, supporting colleagues across the organisation with guidance and training where required.
• Ensure strong data governance, including documentation, version control, and data-quality checks across the reporting lifecycle.

Professional Experience

• Qualifications: Degree in computer science or a related field is preferred but not essential
• 5+ years’ experience in a finance or reporting role (or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of the medical insurance industry, including core processes and reporting needs
• Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query M transformations, data modelling best practices
• Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g. using Microsoft Fabric or similar tools)
• Proficiency with SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation
• Experience using Git / version control
• Working knowledge of Python for automation, data preparation, or integration with Fabric (e.g. pandas / PySpark)
• Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage workload effectively, deliver outputs on time, and support business stakeholders
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Power Query / formulas / pivot tables) and PowerPoint for presentation of insights
