This role involves designing and integrating auxiliary systems and components into complete turbine packages, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and environmental standards. The position requires strong expertise in mechanical design, system integration, and field support.The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with failure analysis, and a deep understanding of turbomachinery systems and Field exposureThis role combines hands-on diagnostics, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex issues and drive product reliability improvements.Job Duties/Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To
Design and develop packaging systems for gas turbines, including enclosures, base frames, piping, and auxiliary systems.Act as the field expert for gas turbine auxiliary systems, including fuel systems, lube oil systems, cooling/ventilation systems, fire & gas detection, and control systems.Utilize field data and performance metrics to identify design limitations or performance gaps in sub-systems.Collaborate directly with the in-house engineering design team to propose and validate modifications and improvements to sub-system components and layouts.Perform layout design and integration of subsystems (fuel, lubrication, cooling, ventilation, and control systems).Prepare detailed engineering drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models using CAD tools.Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and vibration studies for packaging components.Ensure compliance with international standards (ASME, API, ISO) and client specifications.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, controls, and field service) for system integration.Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of packaging systems at client sites.Prepare technical documentation and participate in design reviews.As a Shop/Field Investigator, you will be Investigating Shop and Field Issues independently determines and develops approaches to solutions for design of Turbomachinery packaging systems/structures. Develops solutions to a variety of Shop/Field problems. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in Design Review meeting objectives.Hands-on experience with electrical and control systemsReview and revise electrical schematics, HMI layouts, and control logic documentation.Provide input for design reviews, validation testing, and commissioning activities.Sizing the components like filters, regulators, Heaters, Coolers and Selection of Instruments, Valves and other components based on technical specifications.Perform hand calculations like pressure drop, Flow path, temperature etcStrong knowledge of material properties and their performance considering offshore & Onshore loading conditions.Perform comprehensive structural analysis and hand calculations to validate the performance and safety of designs under various loading conditionsGood Presentation skill and demonstrate the capability through Design Review MeetingExcellent in modelling techniques using 3D ToolsGood exposure to the use of Product Lifecycle Management tool – WindchillQualification
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.7+ years of experience in gas turbine packaging system design.Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance, installation, or field service of industrial gas turbinesDesign Expertise: Proven experience or strong knowledge base in the design, operation, and troubleshooting of gas turbine auxiliary/sub-systems (e.g., fluid dynamics, heat transfer, component sizing).Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo) and design software.Strong knowledge of structural design, piping systems, and auxiliary equipment.Familiarity with manufacturing processes and material selection.Posting Dates
