Primary Job Title: Façade Engineering Manager
Industry & Sector:
Architectural engineering and building-envelope consulting for commercial, institutional and high-rise residential projects. We deliver façade design, specification, performance validation and site implementation services across India and international markets.
Location & Work Type:
India — On-site. Senior role focused on client-facing design development, technical leadership and on-site delivery assurance.Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end façade design packages (concept → detailed design → shop drawings) for curtain wall, unitized and rainscreen cladding systems ensuring compliance with performance, structural and fire codes.
- Develop structural and performance calculations (wind loads, deflection limits, thermal movement, drainage and water-tightness) and coordinate with structural engineers and MEP teams.
- Produce and review detailed BIM/Revit models and coordinated shop drawings; manage handover to fabrication and installation teams.
- Supervise on-site execution: quality inspections, mock-ups, hold points, rectification, and contractor performance to ensure design intent is met.
- Serve as primary client & consultant interface for technical clarifications, value engineering, risk mitigation and change-control during procurement and construction phases.
- Establish and enforce QA/QC processes, inspection protocols, and commissioning tests; mentor junior façade engineers and coordinate sub-consultants.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering with 8+ years’ proven façade design & site delivery experience.
- Strong command of curtain wall systems, unitized façades, aluminium cladding and sealant systems plus hands-on experience with façade detailing.
- Advanced Revit & AutoCAD skills; experience producing shop drawings and coordinating BIM models on multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to perform structural and wind-load calculations, movement joint design, thermal and condensation risk assessments.
- Proven on-site supervision experience on large-scale commercial/high-rise projects in India; familiarity with Indian building codes and international standards (ASTM, EN, BS as applicable).
- Excellent communication skills for client management, contractor coordination and cross-discipline leadership.
Preferred
- Master’s or façade-specialised certification; prior role as Façade Lead/Manager on international projects.
- Experience with performance simulation tools, Rhino/Grasshopper, thermal modeling and air/water infiltration testing protocols.
- Exposure to procurement, vendor assessment, and fabrication shop oversight; experience with mock-up testing and certification processes.
