Job Summary: The Factory GM will be responsible for managing large-scale production of basic garments, with a strong focus on operational excellence, cost efficiency, quality control, and team leadership across a workforce of 1,000+ employees. Location: Doddabalapur, Karnataka Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the garment production facility, ensuring high output with minimal downtime. Optimize production planning, line balancing, and workflow efficiency to meet volume and quality targets. Supervise a workforce of over 1,000 employees, including supervisors, tailors, helpers, and quality staff. Drive productivity improvements and cost optimization across all production lines. Ensure all operations comply with industry health, safety, and labor regulations. Set and monitor ambitious production goals and ensure alignment with overall business strategy. Motivate, coach, and guide team leads and supervisors for improved performance and morale. Resolve operational bottlenecks and communicate key updates to senior management regularly. Establish and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that improve factory performance and product quality. Create effective shift schedules to ensure optimal staffing at all times. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Production, Textiles, or a related field. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in garment manufacturing operations. At least 2 years of experience in a garment factory supervisory or leadership role. Demonstrated success in managing large teams and scaling production efficiently. Strong understanding of garment production workflows, industrial engineering concepts, and compliance protocols. Proficient in project and team management, with excellent leadership and communication skills. Experience with lean manufacturing, quality systems, and productivity improvement tools is preferred.
