Exterior and Structural Systems Engineer

Role Overview: You will be responsible for leading cross functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of objectives while demonstrating a proactive and can-do attitude. Your role will involve guiding and coaching less experienced team members, maintaining work-plans with integrity, and holding yourself and others accountable for delivering against plans and commitments. Additionally, you will need to have a strong drive to reach the right outcomes for the business, see the big picture, and effectively communicate with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Hands-on experience in Design and Release of plastics trims, specifically in commodities like Wheel lip Molding, Wheel Arch liners, Cowl grille & extension dash panel (Plastic), Plastic spoilers, Door Appliques, Black out tapes, badges, decals, and bumpers in either an OEM or Tier 1 supplier setting. - Essential experience in Package and/or CAD (CATIA V5 / Unigraphics / TCE / VisMockup) and Engineering Plastics material selection & Mold flow review. - Demonstrated ability to lead the issue resolution process across all major vehicle systems with a customer-focused mindset. - High energy self-starter with the ability to deliver results with minimal supervision. - Effective communication of key issues and recommendations to senior management. - Collaboration with cross functional teams across international time zones and various departments to ensure cost-effective and high-quality solutions. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially MS-Project, Excel, and Power Point. - Excellent project management skills to meet targets and objectives on time. - Understanding of cost targets/estimates and development of delivery plans in line with program cost & budgets. - Close collaboration with supplier product development teams and design studio teams for feedback and issue resolution. - Support in onsite launch activities and homologation/regulatory testing. - Tracking and close-out of issues, fault analysis, and resolutions. - Effective communication with key stakeholders and enforcement of program-specific milestone approvals. - Creation of CAD designs and support in Design Verification testing for Engineering Sign-Off.
