An Export Merchandising Executive is responsible for managing the entire process of an export order, from product development and client communication to production follow-up and final shipment. This role requires strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills to ensure orders meet quality standards and are delivered on time.Roles and responsibilitiesAn Export Merchandising Executive is the central coordinator between international clients (buyers) and the production departments of an export house.Client communication and negotiationHandle buyer inquiries and maintain seamless communication throughout the entire order cycle, from initial contact to post-shipment feedback.Negotiate costing and pricing with both buyers and vendors to maximize company profitability.Source raw materials and accessories based on the buyer's specifications, including fabrics and trims, and negotiate with suppliers.Order processing and managementCreate and monitor a Time and Action (T&A) calendar to track all key milestones and deadlines, ensuring the order stays on schedule.Manage the sampling process for buyer approval, including proto samples, fit samples, and pre-production samples.Prepare and review crucial export documentation, such as invoices, packing lists, and commercial agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.Production and quality controlCoordinate with internal departments like sampling, production, and quality assurance for smooth order execution.Monitor the production process to ensure it aligns with the buyer's quality parameters and technical specifications.Facilitate quality inspections, which may involve working with third-party labs, to ensure all products meet required testing parameters.Logistics and shippingCoordinate logistics with freight forwarders and shipping carriers to ensure the timely and efficient transport of goods.Monitor shipments and provide updates to the buyer on order status and delivery schedules.Handle post-shipment issues or client feedback to maintain a positive, long-term relationship.

Skills And Qualifications

A successful Export Merchandising Executive combines strong interpersonal and organizational skills with deep knowledge of international trade processes.Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Fashion Design, or a related field is typically required.Experience: Candidates usually have at least 2–5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within an export house.Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for corresponding with international clients and coordinating with internal teams.Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills are necessary for securing favorable prices and terms from suppliers and buyers.Attention to detail: This role requires meticulous attention to detail to manage complex documentation, quality standards, and deadlines.Market knowledge: Staying updated on global market trends, fashion forecasts (for apparel), and export regulations is crucial.Software proficiency: Competence with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or export management software is often preferred.Cross-cultural competence: The ability to work respectfully and productively with people from different cultural backgrounds is vital for international business.About Company: INDOMAX GROUP is a one-stop solution company offering a platter of multi-brands and & products.
