Job Description

Job Title: Export Manager

Job Summary:

As an Export Manager, you will be responsible for leading and expanding our international sales operations and managing the export process. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in global market development, international trade regulations, and logistics. This role involves overseeing export activities, identifying new international markets, building client and distributor relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive international sales growth and meet export-import targets.
  • Identify new market opportunities while assessing potential business risks in target regions.
  • Participate in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and business delegations.

2. Export-Import Operations

  • Manage the end-to-end export-import process, including documentation, customs compliance, freight forwarding, and logistics coordination.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods to international customers.

3. Market Analysis

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to track trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
  • Use data insights to enhance sales strategies and improve product-market fit.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international clients, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues efficiently, and negotiate long-term contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with international stakeholders to support sustainable business growth.

5. Compliance & Regulations

  • Stay updated on international trade laws, export-import regulations, tariffs, and sanctions.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and trade requirements to mitigate risks and avoid penalties.
  • Manage complete export documentation, including:
    • Letter of Credit (LC)
    • Certificate of Origin (COO)
    • Commercial Invoice
    • Packing List
    • Other statutory and regulatory documents

6. Financial Management

  • Monitor international sales budgets, costs, and profitability.
  • Analyze financial and performance metrics to identify improvements and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the finance team for invoicing, collections, credit control, and payment follow-ups.

7. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure high standards of product quality, packaging, and labeling to meet international norms.
  • Implement quality control processes to minimize returns, disputes, and compliance issues.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in export sales and international business development
  • In-depth knowledge of

    INCOTERMS

    , shipping terms, export documentation, and trade compliance
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in market research and international business analysis
  • Understanding of cross-cultural business practices and etiquette
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to meet sales targets and deadlines
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
