Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Park Street, Kolkata for an Executive Sous Chef. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of the kitchen - from menu design to daily operations, food preparation, and staff management — ensuring that each dish served represents Kulture’s commitment to craftsmanship and consistency.The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys mentoring a small but passionate culinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary & Menu Development

  • Create, execute, and evolve Kulture’s menu across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
  • Develop new dishes and seasonal specials aligned with brand positioning.
  • Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation across all shifts.

Kitchen Operations

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including cooking, preparation, and plating.
  • Maintain smooth coordination with service staff for efficient order management.
  • Manage kitchen schedules, task allocation, and daily checklists.

Quality & Hygiene

  • Uphold food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per FSSAI and café best practices.
  • Conduct regular quality, taste, and hygiene audits.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment.

Procurement & Cost Control

  • Prepare purchase orders, and track inventory
  • Control wastage, monitor food costs, and optimize yield.
  • Ensure timely availability of high-quality ingredients.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Supervise and motivate line chefs, commis, and kitchen assistants.
  • Conduct training sessions on cooking techniques, hygiene, and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined work culture in the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Atleast 10 years of professional kitchen experience, with at least 2 year in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in cooking, food preparation, and presentation across

    continental

    cuisine.
  • Strong kitchen management, staff supervision, and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of food safety regulations and sanitary practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities; able to motivate small teams.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
