Role Overview

Electrical Design & Estimation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design Engineering

• Prepare

  electrical designs, GA drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams

  and BOM for HT/LT Control Panels in compliance with

  IEC 61439, IS standards

  , and client specifications.
• Coordinate with R&D, procurement, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Select appropriate switchgear, protection devices, busbars, control wiring, and panel accessories as per technical requirements.
• Review and approve vendor drawings and documents.

Estimation & Costing

• Analyze tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Develop

  technical and commercial proposals

  in coordination with the sales team.
• Evaluate vendor quotes, material costs, and labor charges to optimize pricing without compromising quality.
• Track material prices and market trends to update estimation databases.

Coordination & Client Interaction

• Attend client meetings to clarify technical queries and propose optimized solutions.
• Support the sales team in

  pre-bid and post-bid discussions

  with clients and consultants.
• Collaborate with project execution teams for smooth handover from estimation to execution.

Qualifications & Skills Required

Education:

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Diploma with relevant experience may also be considered).

Experience:

• 3–7 years

  in electrical design and estimation, specifically for HT/LT Control Panels, MCCs, PCCs, APFC Panels, and Bus Ducts.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in

  AutoCAD, E-Plan (preferred)

  , and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of

  switchgear selection

  , protection schemes, busbar calculations, and electrical standards (IEC, IS).
• Experience in preparing

  TTA/Type Tested panel designs

  is preferred.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Good communication skills for client and consultant interactions.
