Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team within Checking & Releasing Division. As a First-Line manager, the incumbent will provide leadership to the team primarily focused on providing Engineering Quality services for various Energy & Transportation Products.

Job Related Statistics:
Total Operating Expenses: Less than $2 Million Personnel: Manage a team of 15 Full time employees and 20+ Contract employees

Job Duties:

As an Engineering Manager, you will coach, guide and facilitate the development of a workgroup to develop collaborative relationship among themselves, as well as with Clients, Suppliers and other functional groups to ensure goals are achieved.

You would create and maintain an organizational climate / culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement / commitment and a sense of urgency towards business success.

Position requires excellent human relations, interpersonal, and communications skills. Ability to draw upon the role-based competencies of Managing Vision & Purpose, Motivating Others, Developing Others, and Listening.

Detailed Job description:

  • Manage and lead a team of Engineering Quality Checkers that provide form, fit and functional engineering checking services for various Energy & Transportation Products.
  • Project management activities include resource planning, project allocation, tracking and status reporting to meet client expectations on quality, velocity, and cost.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement activities to improve the key performance deliverables in Checking & Releasing Division.
  • Provide people leadership inclusive of coaching, career planning and performance management.
  • Consciously establish a culture that encourages innovation, partnering and collaborative relationships and customer focus.
  • Accountable for creating additional value to the clients in total quality assurance activities that impact product quality and improve CPPD effectiveness of various products.
  • Responsible for managing the budget, resources, and expenses within checking & Releasing Division.

Background/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Mechanical or Automobile curriculum plus 12-18 years of experience in Engineering
  • Project Management experience
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Experience of managing teams with over 15 direct employees & proven team management and leadership skills.

Desired Skills:

  • 6 Sigma BB experience
  • Product Development experience in mining / construction industry
