Engineer / Sr. Engineer - Quality

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality systems, standards and procedures across the infrastructure manufacturing unit. The role involves ensuring compliance with statutory and industry requirements, driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of quality excellence across operations.

Position Title: Engineer / Sr. Engineer – QC,

Department: Quality,

Job Location: Tilda Industrial Area, Raipur,

Reports To: Quality Head

Required Qualification: B.E (Mechanical),

Required Experience: 5–7 years of experience in Quality in Steel fabrication / Infrastructure components / Construction material manufacturing,

Salary Budget: 30 to 40 kpm (Negotiable)

Required by Date - At the earliest.

Roles & Responsibilities: -

1. Product & Process Quality Assurance

• Ensure products meet defined quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements
• Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections
• Monitor critical quality parameters and ensure compliance

2. Inspection & Testing

• Perform dimensional, functional, and material testing as per SOPs
• Use measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, CMM, gauges, etc.) accurately
• Validate test results and maintain calibration status

3. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

• Identify, document, and analyze non-conformities (NCs)
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) using tools like 5-Why, Fishbone
• Implement and track CAPA effectiveness

4. Documentation & Records

• Maintain inspection reports, test records, and quality logs
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO / IATF / customer standards
• Assist in preparing SOPs, control plans, and work instructions

5. Continuous Improvement

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Lean)
• Reduce rejection, rework, and customer complaints
• Support process optimization and defect prevention

6. Supplier & Incoming Quality (More for Sr. Engineer)

• Monitor incoming material quality and supplier performance
• Support supplier audits and quality improvement plans
• Handle supplier NCs and corrective actions

7. Internal & External Audits

• Support internal quality audits and customer audits
• Ensure audit observations are closed within timelines
• Maintain audit readiness of the department

8. Customer Complaint Handling (Sr. Engineer Focus)

• Analyze customer complaints and prepare corrective action reports
• Coordinate with production, design, and other teams
• Ensure timely closure and prevention of recurrence

9. Team Coordination & Training (Sr. Engineer)

• Guide and mentor QC inspectors / junior engineers
• Conduct quality awareness and training sessions
• Allocate inspection work and monitor performance

10. Safety & Compliance

• Follow workplace safety, EHS, and statutory requirements
• Ensure safe handling of materials and testing equipment

Required Skills & Competencies:

§

§ Good in MS Office & ERP software.

§ Strong knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS, etc.).

§ Experience in QC, documentation in infrastructure / heavy engineering / manufacturing sector.

§ Good in quality tools: CAPA, RCA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D.

§ Good in communication and problem-solving abilities.
