Job Responsibility : Standard Room Management: - Manage and maintain the Standard Room infrastructure, instruments, and environmental controls (temperature, humidity, cleanliness). - Ensure proper storage, handling, and protection of all master gauges, reference standards, and precision instruments. - Regularly verify the condition and usability of master instruments and initiate re-certification as needed. Calibration & Traceability: - Prepare and execute monthly/annual calibration schedules for all instruments used in production, inspection, and lab areas. - Perform in-house calibration of hand tools and measuring devices as per internal procedures and calibration standards. - Coordinate with NABL-accredited external agencies for calibration of high-precision instruments (e.g., CMM, pressure gauges, temperature sensors). - Ensure all equipment is calibrated as per plan and marked with valid identification stickers (calibration status, due date, instrument code). Documentation & Audit Support: - Maintain calibration records, equipment history cards, and master list of instruments with traceability to national standards (NPL, NIST, etc.). - Prepare calibration certificates, maintain logs, and update SAP/ERP systems (if applicable). - Support internal and external audits (Customer / IATF / ISO ) by presenting accurate and timely documentation. - Address and close NCs (non-conformities) related to instrument management and calibration. Measurement Systems and MSA: - Support in the execution of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) – Gauge R&R, bias, linearity, and stability studies. - Assist quality engineers and production teams in identifying and resolving measurement- related concerns. Continuous Improvement and Compliance: - Ensure compliance with standards like ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO/IEC 17025. - Continuously improve calibration processes, reduce downtime, and enhance instrument reliability. - Develop and revise SOPs and work instructions related to standard room and calibration activities Training and Technical Support: - Train operators and quality inspectors on proper handling, usage, and care of measuring instruments. - Act as a technical expert in metrology and calibration for internal departments. Compliance and Systems: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 / ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Review and update calibration SOPs and work instructions periodically. Assist in the preparation and review of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) reports. Support Functions: Provide training and guidance to production and quality staff on proper use and handling of measuring instruments. Assist in troubleshooting and technical support for measurement-related issues in manufacturing or quality inspection areas. Key Skills & Competencies: - Strong knowledge of metrology, GD& T, and measurement uncertainty. - Hands-on experience with precision instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauges, Bore Gauges, CMM, Height Master, etc. - Familiarity with calibration software/tools and ERP systems (SAP, etc.). - Excellent record-keeping, audit-facing ability, and attention to detail. - Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
