Role purpose

Role & responsibilities

The main accountability areas for this position are:

employee relations management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain employee relations strategies and policies to create a positive and productive workplace environment.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts in a timely and effective manner, promoting fair and equitable resolutions.
  • Provide guidance and support to Managers and Directors in handling employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and performance management.

employment law compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date with Indian employment legislation and industry trends to ensure company policies and practices remain compliant.
  • Interpret employment legislation, making recommendations to the HR team for policy updates when necessary.
  • Collaborate with legal, WHS and the HR team to mitigate risks and maintain a legally sound work environment

dispute resolution:

  • Lead and facilitate the resolution of complex employee relations issues and disputes through mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to find solutions that align with company values, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Represent Randstad and associated entities in the Fair Work Commission, Human Rights Commission and any other relevant state and federal jurisdictions.

policy development:

  • Collaborate with HR to develop, revise, and communicate employee relations policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensure policies are clear, consistent, and aligned with best practices and legal standards.

data analysis and reporting:

  • Utilise and maintain Randstads HR incident portal.
  • Analyse employee relations data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive strategies to improve the amount of HR/IR related incidents.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management regarding employee relations metrics and initiatives.

continuous improvement:

  • Implement strategies to address the root causes of recurring ER issues.
  • Organise and conduct training sessions for employees and managers on topics related to employee relations and employment legislation.

Preferred candidate profile

your background knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in employee relations, industrial relations, or a related HR role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Indian laws and shops and establishment act, POSH etc.
  • Experience in a large company, ideally in a fast paced multi-site environment.
  • Previous experience with labour hire workers is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, mediation, and dispute management.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
