  • Feeders/branch, grounding/bonding, raceway/conduit/cable tray, boxes and devices
  • Lighting and lighting controls
  • Equipment connections and temporary power
  • Build detailed

    quantity takeoffs

, labor units, and production rates; apply crew mix, shift factors, congestion, and logistics.
  • Price

    indirects, general conditions, OH&P, escalation

    , and

    risk/contingency

    ; maintain a clear

    Basis of Estimate

    (assumptions/exclusions).

  • Coordinate with structured cabling and security estimators to align

power, pathways, spaces, and device backboxes

; prevent overlaps/holes at interfaces (e.g., PoE vs. line-voltage, telecom room power and HVAC, fire alarm power).
  • Maintain a

    scope matrix

across 26/27/28 to clarify responsibilities (who owns cabling, terminations, programming, commissioning, as-builts).
  • Participate in design reviews and RFIs regarding telecom rooms/IDFs/MDFs, PoE power budgets, raceway coordination, and life-safety power interfaces.

Preconstruction & Pursuit Support

  • Lead estimate reviews with Precon/Operations; prepare buy-out strategy, vendor lists, long-lead trackers (gear, lighting controls), and early procurement recommendations.
  • Support proposal narratives, alternates, and

    value engineering

    Autodesk Build/PlanGrid

    ; scheduling awareness (

    MS Project

    or

    P6

    , review level).

    LenelS2, Genetec, Milestone

    , telecom rack/UPS power).

Certifications (nice to have)

  • ASPE/CEP

    or

    AACE

    estimating credential;

    NICET
