Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced

EHS Manager

to oversee and ensure compliance with

environmental, health, and safety (EHS)

regulations within our dairy production facility. The ideal candidate will develop, implement, and maintain programs that promote a safe and compliant workplace while minimizing risks and ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations related to the dairy industry.
    • Stay updated on new safety, environmental, and health regulations affecting dairy operations.
    • Manage permits, licenses, and regulatory reporting.
  • Safety Management:
    • Develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety programs and procedures.
    • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards.
    • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
    • Provide PPE guidelines and ensure proper usage by employees.
  • Environmental Management:
    • Monitor waste management, wastewater treatment, and air quality to ensure compliance.
    • Implement programs to reduce carbon footprint, energy consumption, and waste generation.
    • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Health & Hygiene:
    • Oversee occupational health programs, including employee wellness initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, such as FSMA and HACCP.
    • Conduct training on hygiene best practices for dairy processing.
  • Training & Employee Engagement:
    • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and management.
    • Foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
    • Lead safety committee meetings and promote employee involvement in safety initiatives.
  • Emergency Preparedness & Response:
    • Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire safety, spill control, and first aid.
    • Conduct periodic drills and simulations to ensure readiness.
    • Coordinate with local emergency services in case of incidents.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of EHS experience in the dairy, food, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FDA, FSMA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or CSP (preferred).
  • Experience in developing and leading safety programs.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct EHS audits, inspections, and investigations.
