Job Title: PVR Duty Manager Job Summary: The PVR Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the cinema during their shift. This includes managing customer service, supervising staff, ensuring the smooth functioning of movie screenings, handling customer issues, and maintaining operational and safety standards. The Duty Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the theater's daily activities, ensuring both customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Operations Management: Ensure smooth functioning of cinema operations, including ticket sales, food and beverage services, and movie screenings. Monitor and maintain all cinema facilities, including theaters, lobbies, restrooms, and other common areas. Ensure all equipment (e.g., projectors, sound systems) is working optimally, and take corrective actions in case of any technical glitches. Coordinate with technical staff to resolve any issues that may arise during screenings. Customer Service and Satisfaction: Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining friendly, courteous, and prompt service. Handle escalated customer issues and work to resolve them effectively while maintaining brand standards. Oversee ticketing operations to ensure smooth entry for customers and resolve any ticketing issues that may arise. Team Management: Supervise, guide, and support front-line staff (service associates, ushers, cashiers, etc.) to ensure smooth operations. Allocate tasks and ensure that staff are performing their duties effectively. Provide feedback and training to staff on customer service, operational procedures, and health and safety standards. Monitor staff performance, conduct regular checks, and ensure high standards of customer service are maintained. Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the cinema. Oversee the implementation of emergency procedures in case of accidents, fire, or any other hazards. Monitor cleanliness and hygiene standards across all areas, including auditoriums, food counters, and public spaces. Conduct routine safety checks to ensure all emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment are functioning properly. Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor the inventory of food, beverages, and other supplies in the cinema, ensuring adequate stock levels. Ensure that all food and beverage counters are adequately staffed, stocked, and ready for customer service. Report any stock shortages or issues to management for prompt resolution. Financial Management: Oversee daily cash and transaction handling, ensuring all payments (cash, card, or digital) are accurately processed and recorded. Assist in reconciling cash registers and closing the cinema's financial books at the end of the shift. Ensure all financial transactions are transparent and comply with company policies. Promotions and Sales: Oversee the promotion and sale of cinema tickets, food and beverages, and special promotions (e.g., combo offers, loyalty programs). Encourage staff to upsell services such as premium seating, loyalty membership, and concession packages. Ensure that promotional materials and campaigns are displayed appropriately across the cinema. Shift and Staff Scheduling: Manage staff schedules and ensure that the cinema is appropriately staffed during peak hours, weekends, and holidays. Ensure staff arrive on time for their shifts and maintain effective communication for any shift changes or staffing needs. Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on daily operations, customer feedback, financials, and any operational issues to upper management. Track cinema performance metrics such as attendance, revenue, and customer satisfaction, providing recommendations for improvements. Qualifications: Education : Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience : Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cinema operations, customer service, or hospitality management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Skills : Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities. Good organizational and multitasking skills. Basic understanding of financial management and cash handling. Strong problem-solving abilities and quick decision-making under pressure. Knowledge of health and safety standards in the workplace. Proficiency in using cinema management software and POS systems. Key Competencies: Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Flexible and adaptable to changing demands. Ability to handle customer complaints and concerns with patience and professionalism. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work late-night shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Working Conditions: Shift Hours : The role typically requires working in rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. Physical Environment : The Duty Manager will be expected to walk around the cinema and ensure all areas are well-maintained, safe, and ready for service. The position may involve some manual tasks, such as helping to move stock or assist with maintenance.
