Job Title: Director – Quote to Cash (Q2C), Shared Services (India)
Location: Bangalore, India
Reports To: VP, Customer Financial Services
Role Overview
As part of Lumen’s Finance Modernization and Simplification (M&S) initiative, the Director of Quote to Cash (Q2C) will lead global Q2C operations within the Strategic Locations hub in Bangalore.
This leader will own the end-to-end revenue and cash lifecycle — from customer setup and billing through collections, dispute management, and cash application — ensuring excellence in execution, compliance, and customer experience.
The ideal candidate will combine deep operational knowledge of revenue processes with strong leadership and digital transformation expertise, driving automation, AI, and analytics to build a next-generation Q2C function.
End-to-End Q2C Operations Leadership
Architect and execute a global Quote-to-Cash strategy aligned with Lumen’s Finance M&S transformation goals.
Lead and oversee all aspects of billing, collections, cash application, dispute resolution, and revenue assurance across global markets.
Ensure high accuracy in invoicing, timeliness in cash allocation, and strong compliance with internal controls.
Drive adherence to SLA, DSO, and aged-debt reduction targets.
Champion cross-functional alignment across Sales, Finance, and Operations to deliver a seamless customer-to-cash journey.
Transformation & Digital Enablement
Partner with Global Process Owners (GPOs) and the Finance AI COE to re-design Q2C processes using AI-native architecture.
Introduce automation in billing validation, payment matching, and dispute classification.
Leverage GenAI-driven customer query assistants and predictive cash-flow analytics to enhance efficiency and visibility.
Standardize and simplify Q2C processes globally, integrating with the ERP(SAP) and CRM (Salesforce) ecosystems.
Build an operational dashboard leveraging real-time data visualization to provide performance insights and cash-flow predictability.
Governance, Controls, and Compliance
Ensure compliance with SOX, revenue-recognition standards (ASC 606/IFRS 15), and company policies.
Design and enforce enterprise-wide credit risk and dispute governance frameworks with clear escalation protocols.
Lead readiness for internal and external audits across all Q2C functions.
People Leadership & Shared Services Build
Establish and lead a scalable Q2C organization in Bangalore under Lumen’s Strategic Locations model, partnering with peer hubs in Poland and the U.S.
Develop talent pipelines, succession plans, and leadership capability across sub-functions (Billing, Collections, Cash App, AR Control).
Drive leadership development, succession planning, and workforce strategy across Q2C towers.
Cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Partnership
Act as the strategic business partner to Commercial Finance, Sales Operations, and CFO teams.
Influence system design and automation priorities in collaboration with Technology and the AI COE.
Drive alignment with upstream processes (Quote, Order Management, Contracting) and downstream functions (Accounting, FP&A).
Key Deliverables
Deliver sustained reductions in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and improved cash-flow predictability.
Achieve full-scale deploymentof AI-enabled automation across billing and collections processes.
Implementation of a global dispute-management framework with measurable resolution targets.
Drive cost-to-serve optimization and productivity gains across Q2C towers.Measurable improvements in customer-experience scores related to invoicing and payments.
Qualifications
Education
Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, CMA, or MBA in Finance/Business.
Advanced degree in Data Analytics or Process Automation preferred.
Experience
15+ years of progressive experience across Order-to-Cash, Billing, or Revenue Operations, with 5+ years in a global leadership role.
Proven success in Shared Services/GBS buildout or transformation.
Deep understanding of billing systems, AR management, and ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday).
Exposure to automation tools (RPA, ML, AI, GenAI) and analytics platforms (Power BI, Palantir, Tableau).
Experience working in large, matrixed organizations with cross-functional stakeholders.
Skills & Attributes
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of customer lifecycles.
Track record of reducing DSO and optimizing working capital.
Leadership presence with ability to influence globally dispersed teams.
Data-driven mindset with expertise in analytics and process redesign.
Comfortable operating in an agile, fast-changing transformation environment.
