Roles & Responsibilities :

• Own the overall category strategy aligned with business goals- revenue, margin, customer experience, and market share.
• Define long-term plans for category growth and evolution, anticipating consumer trends and competitive dynamics.
• Translate category vision into actionable roadmaps and deliverables.
• Lead assortment planning, SKU rationalization, pricing strategy, and promotional planning to optimize category performance. Ensure the right product mix, pricing, and offers are aligned with customer needs and business priorities.
• Build and nurture strategic relationships with key vendors, brands, and suppliers.
• Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, exclusive deals, and promotional support
• Partner with teams across growth & marketing, planning, supply chain & operations, finance, and analytics to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
• Lead and coach a team of category managers and analysts.
• Foster a culture of high performance, data-driven decision making, and ownership.

Desired Skills:-

• Prior experience of managing categories in a high growth environment. Prior experience in ecommerce / quick commerce category management is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and solve ambiguous problems along with inventing new ways to meet the needs.
• Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Proven analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential
• Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills
• Extreme attention to detail and willingness to roll up your sleeves
• Passionate about the quick commerce & convenience sector in India
