About the Role

set up, scale, and manage the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Underwriting team

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, establish, and scale

  the CRE underwriting function supporting US-based real estate portfolios.
• Drive

  underwriting delivery, oversight, governance

  , and execution excellence across the CRE lifecycle.
• Mentor, coach, and develop a

  high-performing team of 15–20 CRE professionals

  , ensuring capability uplift and strong operational discipline.
• Partner with senior onshore stakeholders, coverage teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure seamless underwriting and approval workflows.
• Standardize and streamline underwriting processes across sub-segments and asset classes.
• Expand scope across CRE sub-lines, manage transitions, and stabilize new processes.
• Lead efficiency, automation, and quality-improvement initiatives across the function.
• Ensure

  regulatory adherence, risk controls, and documentation standards

  are consistently met.
• Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 18+ years

  of experience in Commercial Real Estate across

  Underwriting, Asset Management, or Valuation

  .

• 8+ years

  of proven leadership experience managing mid-sized to large teams.
• Strong understanding of

  US Commercial Real Estate markets

  , underwriting frameworks, and financial analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience

  setting up or scaling CRE underwriting teams

  (India/Global capability centers preferred).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with US-based senior leadership.
• Demonstrated experience improving processes, driving efficiencies, and leading transformation initiatives.
• Proficiency in

  MS Excel and PowerPoint

  , with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
