About the Role

We are seeking a high-impact Business Development Director to drive brand acquisitions, build a robust market pipeline, and drive revenue growth across retail and e-commerce channels. The role requires strong commercial acumen, market understanding, and the ability to engage global brands looking to enter new geographies. You will own the end-to-end BD lifecycle — from lead generation to onboarding — while ensuring healthy margins and profitable growth.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Brand Acquisition & Onboarding


  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new brands across retail and e-commerce channels.
  • Build and scale a high-quality portfolio
  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding journey, ensuring alignment on product mix, commercial terms, and GTM readiness.


2. Lead Generation & Pipeline Management


  • Drive high-quality lead generation efforts across multiple channels, including outreach, CRM, industry events, and referrals.
  • Manage a strong BD pipeline, delivering conversion benchmarks.
  • Leverage CRM tools to track leads, opportunities, and funnel performance.


3. Market Expansion & Brand Strategy


  • Understand brand positioning and help them scale into new markets with tailored GTM strategies.
  • Evaluate opportunities across local, regional, and global markets by analysing demand pockets, competitor activity, and category trends.
  • Provide structured insights to guide brand entry and market expansion decisions.


4. Stakeholder & Client Management


  • Act as the primary interface for brand partners, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Drive trust, alignment, and long-term collaboration through transparent communication and data-backed decision-making.


5. Commercial & P&L Ownership


  • Build strong business cases highlighting visibility, margins, pricing, and overall profitability.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams to ensure GTM, and commercial terms
  • Support negotiations across commercials, forecasting, and growth plans.


6. Sales, Channels & Trade Marketing


  • Develop and manage channel networks to drive sustained sales growth.
  • Represent the company and your brand portfolio at trade shows, exhibitions, and category events.


Skills & Experience Required

  • 12+ years of experience in Business Development, Category Management, or Brand Acquisition (Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle preferred).
  • Proven experience in onboarding new brands across retail and e-commerce ecosystems.
  • Strong lead generation and conversion experience
