About the Role

Senior DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

• Architect, implement, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure on

  AWS or GCP

  using

  best practices

  for security, scalability, and reliability. 
• Manage

  production Kubernetes clusters

  (EKS, GKE, or self-hosted) including deployment strategies and version upgrades. 
• Build and optimize robust

  CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins

  for automated testing, integration, and deployment. 

Production Support & Observability

• Monitor and maintain

  production environments

  , ensuring high availability and performance. 
• Implement and maintain tools for

  observability

  including monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). 
• Lead

  troubleshooting and debugging

  of complex production issues; perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes. 

Security & Governance

• Enforce

  security best practices

  including IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, and compliance standards. 
• Ensure infrastructure complies with internal and external

  audit/security requirements

  . 

Team Collaboration & Client Interaction

• Collaborate closely with

  development, QA, and DevOps teams

  , offering mentorship and technical guidance. 
• Participate in

  Agile ceremonies

  (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) using tools like

  Jira

  . 
• Engage in periodic

  client calls

  to provide technical insights and regular updates. 

Automation & Optimization

• Define and implement

  Infrastructure as Code

  (IaC) using

  Terraform

  (nice to have). 
• Contribute to

  GitOps workflows

  using tools like

  ArgoCD

  (nice to have). 
• Evaluate and implement

  service mesh

  architectures (Istio, Linkerd) when required. 
• Drive

  cloud cost optimization

  (FinOps), monitoring spends and ensuring cost-effective solutions. 
• Participate in

  cloud architecture planning

  , focusing on security, performance, and resilience. 

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years

  of hands-on DevOps or SRE experience. 
• Proficiency with

  AWS or GCP

  cloud environments. 
• Production-level experience with

  Kubernetes

  . 
• Expertise with

  Jenkins

  for CI/CD workflows. 
• Strong skills in

  production debugging

  ,

  observability

  , and

  incident management

  . 
• Working knowledge of

  networking

  ,

  VPC design

  ,

  DNS

  ,

  load balancing

  , and

  firewalls

  in the cloud. 
• Solid understanding of

  Agile workflows

  , including experience with

  Jira

  . 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work closely with internal teams and external clients. 
• Experience mentoring junior DevOps or cross-functional team members (QA, developers). 

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  Terraform

  or other Infrastructure as Code tools. 
• Exposure to

  GitOps

  and

  ArgoCD

  . 
• Familiarity with

  service meshes

  like Istio or Linkerd. 
• Experience with

  FinOps

  or cost-optimization initiatives. 
• Certifications: AWS/GCP Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD).
