Job Description

Position: Senior Design Engineer Department: R&D / Product Engineering Location: Experience Required: 5+ years in EV / Automotive domain Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer specializing in EV Vehicle Wire Harnessing, Automotive Sensors, and Component/Assembly Design. The candidate will play a key role in developing electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting product innovation in electric vehicles. Key Responsibilities· Wire Harness Design: Design, develop, and optimize wiring harness layouts for EV platforms. Ensure routing, packaging, and protection meet performance, safety, and manufacturability standards. Work with suppliers for harness manufacturing feasibility. · Automotive Sensors Integration: Design and validate sensor placements (temperature, pressure, position, current, etc.). Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and EMI/EMC requirements. Support sensor calibration, diagnostics, and CAN testing. · Component & Assembly Design: Develop CAD models, drawings, and assemblies (connectors, brackets, battery pack interfaces, enclosures, etc.). Conduct tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and adhere to GD&T standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for prototyping and validation. · Project & Documentation: Prepare BOMs, ECRs, and validation reports. Work with manufacturing and quality teams on DFM/DFA. Provide technical support during prototype builds and production ramp-up. Skills & Competencies· Strong expertise in wire harness design tools (CATIA Electrical, Capital Harness, or similar). · Hands-on experience with automotive sensors and EV electrical systems. · Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or equivalent). · Knowledge of IATF, AIS standards, EMI/EMC guidelines, and safety regulations. · Good understanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, and validation methodologies. · Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Qualifications· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive Engineering. · 5–10 years of experience in EV/Automotive product design & development. Prior exposure to OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in the EV/Automotive industry is preferred.
