Key Responsibilities: Design & Development: Design and develop mechanical systems and components for smart lockers, including IP-rated enclosures, temperature-controlled compartments, and structurally robust units. Materials & Manufacturing Integration: Demonstrate a strong understanding of materials, thermal insulation techniques, IP-rated standards, manufacturing processes, and integration with electrical systems. Modular & Scalable Design: Apply modular design principles to support product scalability, ease of customization, and production efficiency. Engineering Standards: Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure manufacturing precision and functional reliability. Design for Excellence (DfX): Implement DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) and DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to improve design reliability and manufacturability. Prototyping & Validation: Conduct R&D activities, develop prototypes, and perform feasibility testing to validate design concepts and functionalities. CAD & Documentation: Create and manage 3D models, assembly drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and comprehensive technical documentation using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Cost Estimation & Forecasting: Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and provide accurate forecasts for design-related projects. Value Engineering: Analyze new and existing product designs for cost-saving opportunities through material alternatives, design optimization, and improved processes. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in product design (preferably in furniture, appliances, or smart electronic products). Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and mechanical design tools. Strong knowledge of DFMA, DFMEA, and GD&T. Experience in developing IP-rated enclosures and insulated compartments is a plus.
