Job Summary
The Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end instrumentation activities across multiple projects, including basic and detailed engineering, erection, and commissioning. The role demands strong technical expertise, coordination with consultants and contractors, and adherence to project timelines and safety standards .
Job Responsibilities
Basic Engineering:
- Develop instrumentation design basis and project estimates.
- Prepare data sheets for DCS and field instruments.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations for instrumentation items.
- Prepare bulk BOQ, tender documents, and technical annexures.
Detailed Engineering:
- Approve construction drawings as per DCI/schedule.
- Coordinate with detail engineering consultants for timely document delivery.
- Provide technical inputs and prepare schedules (JB, cable, air header, termination).
- Design cable tray layouts and ensure alignment with project needs.
Erection & Commissioning:
- Oversee instrumentation erection activities as per project schedule.
- Plan and manage instrumentation work schedules and contractor resources.
- Ensure workplace safety and compliance during execution.
- Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts in coordination with project and process teams
The Person
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education:B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience:6–12years of relevant experience in instrumentation engineering within project construction environments, preferably in chemical/process industries.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of DCS, field instruments, and control systems.
- Proficiency in engineering documentation and schedules.
- Experience in managing contractors and ensuring safety compliance.
- Good communication and coordination skills across cross-functional teams
