Job Purpose:Eriez Magnetics India is an important subsidiary of the 80+ year-old Eriez Manufacturing Company, based in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA. This long-standing business unit is a leading manufacturer of process equipment which is sold into many domestic and international markets including mining, recycling, food processing, and other material handling and manufacturing industries.The Manager of Human Resources and Administrative serves as the liaison between the company and its most important resource; its people. The core functions of the role are to administer the welfare and growth of the company's employees, and to ensure that clear policy-driven governance is used to achieve a healthy and productive workplace.The HR/Admin Manager is responsible for maintaining the policies and procedures related to rules and discipline in the workplace, administering the Performance Management Program, planning for succession and growth, and administering all payroll and benefits. Additionally, the HR/Admin Manager oversees all contract and temporary staff. In this role, the HR/Admin Manager must confidently communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders at every level of the company.This role is integral to Eriez corporate profitable growth strategy. Eriez Magnetics India averages a turnover of approximately 70 Crore with the expectation of significant growth over the next 5-10 years. The HR/Admin Manager is expected to ensure that the needs of Eriez India's people are met by the company through this period of aggressive growth, and conversely, that the needs of the company are met by its people.

Reports to:

Manager HR and organization Development - Eriez Magnetics IndiaDuties:
  • Promote the company's mission, vision, and values as the core of Eriez India's workplace culture
  • Be a champion for a vibrant company culture
  • Take the lead for recruitment/selection of employees and contractors that align with Eriez culture and objectives
  • Champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision
  • Administer an effective Performance Management Program that focuses on putting the right people in the right role, and equipping them with training and development to achieve expected results
  • Train and support all managers and supervisors to conduct effective Performance Feedback in order to assesses their staff's skills and abilities, and to provide plans to address gaps and achieve personal and professional growth
  • Identify and recommend areas of improvement to internal standard operating procedures, team restructuring, and morale
  • Support all departments in the development and delivery of strategic HR plans to fit with the overall business direction
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise HR activities by scheduling management conferences with employees, hearing and resolving employee grievances, training managers to coach and discipline employees, and counseling employees and supervisors
  • Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
  • Handle confidential matters with discretion
  • Statutory compliance (Renewal of License and agreements and report preparation)
  • Act as Eriez India's Liaison with Government Officials Inspector of factories, Pollution Control Board, Fire Department, ESI & EPF, Gratuity, Chennai Corporation and any other Governmental entities
  • Conducts other duties as may be reasonably be requested from time to time
  • Wage & Salary Administration of the employees

Requirements

Skills/Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent), and an Post Graduation in HR or other secondary qualification with a Human Resources specialization
  • Working proficiency in English and Tamil
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Human Resources, with minimum 3-5 as HR Manager
  • Inherent ability to continually challenge the status quo along with a "can do" approach to positive organizational change
  • Strong understanding of Indian National and Tamil Nadu state employment laws and practices
  • Strong ethics and good motivational skills
  • Adept problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of HR policies and systems (including HR software packages)
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in heated situations, and to think and speak confidently in front of staff

Working Hours:

Employment is on a full-time basis, and typical working hours are from 9:00AM to 6:00PM, Monday through Friday. In this role, it is necessary to ‘work the job, not the hours'. Additional Hours will be required to be worked without any entitlement to any specific salary or benefits other than that specified in the resulting employment contract which has been set at a level and commensurate with the job duties described herein
