Role Purpose

The Deputy Manager – Controllership supports the finance leadership in financial planning, performance monitoring, reporting, risk management, and digital transformation initiatives. The role acts as a key business partner to ensure accurate financial control, insightful analysis, and process optimization across profit centers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning & Project Evaluation

• Assist in building, reviewing, and evaluating financial models for projects and business initiatives.
• Support capital expenditure analysis, feasibility studies, and return analysis for management decision-making.

2. Financial Reporting & Controllership

• Oversee profit center–wise accounting and performance tracking.
• Monitor and review overall Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheet reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes.

3. Cost & Variance Analysis

• Conduct detailed cost variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
• Identify key drivers of variances and provide actionable insights to business and management teams.

4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Oversee treasury operations including cash flow planning, monitoring, and utilization.
• Support working capital management initiatives and liquidity planning.

5. Management Reporting

• Prepare comprehensive management reports, dashboards, and MIS packs.
• Provide financial insights and commentary to support strategic and operational decisions.

6. Risk Management & Internal Controls

• Support identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial and operational risks.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and governance frameworks.

7. Digital Enhancement & Process Improvement

• Actively contribute to digital transformation initiatives within finance and controllership.
• Drive automation, system improvements, and data accuracy enhancements across financial processes.

8. Data Mining & Ad-hoc Analysis

• Perform ad-hoc reporting and data mining to support business requirements.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

9. Business Partnering & Project Leadership

• Act as a business lead for cross-functional projects related to:
• Digital enhancement initiatives
• Debtors (Accounts Receivable) management
• Inventory optimization and control
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution and delivery of project objectives.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Sound knowledge of accounting, P&L, and balance sheet management
• Experience in cost control, variance analysis, and treasury operations
• Proficiency in MIS reporting, data analysis, and financial systems
• Strong Knowledge of SAP
• Ability to drive digital initiatives and process improvements
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
