Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models based on business requirements. • Use data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, dbt, Lucidchart, SQL DB tools) to create and maintain models. • Collaborate with data engineers and DBAs to implement and optimize data structures in various databases (RDBMS, cloud data warehouses). • Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and metadata documentation. • Review and optimize existing data models for scalability, performance, and consistency. • Translate business needs into high-quality data structures supporting analytics, reporting, and integration projects. • Support ETL and data pipeline teams by providing model-level design inputs. • Partner with data governance and quality teams to ensure compliance with data standards. ________________________________________
Technical Skills Required: • Strong experience in data modeling tools such as: o Erwin Data Modeler, SAP PowerDesigner, IBM Data Architect, or dbt (data build tool) • Proficiency in SQL (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Snowflake). • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, DataStage, or Azure Data Factory). • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, fact/dimension design). • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake). • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and master data principles. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications: • Exposure to modern data stack: dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, or Looker. • Knowledge of Python or Shell scripting for data validation. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
