Position Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Center Network Engineer to manage and operate complex network infrastructures across multiple data centers. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network platforms from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Arista, and will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network switches, firewalls, and cybersecurity platforms. This role requires strong collaboration with IT and operations teams to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable network performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage data center network switches and routers.
- Operate and maintain network platforms from Cisco, Juniper, and Arista.
- Ensure high availability and performance of network infrastructure across production and development environments.
- Configure and manage data center firewalls and cybersecurity platforms.
- Implement and support high-availability solutions, including BGP, OSPF, STP, VXLAN, and other routing protocols.
- Monitor and respond to network security incidents, vulnerabilities, and performance issues using tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or equivalent.
- Implement and maintain network segmentation, access controls, and threat detection systems.
- Work closely with IT and operations teams to handle:
- Change requests and version control of network configurations
- Diagnosis and resolution of network and security errors
- Patch management and software updates
- Migration and expansion
- Compliance audits and documentation
- Quickly and efficiently diagnose network issues across multiple platforms.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of network incidents and resolutions.
Basic Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience managing data center network switches, firewalls, and routers.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista network platforms including Cisco ACI, Cisco NX-OS, Nexus Dashboard, CloudVision & Apstra.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security principles.
- Experience with firewall configuration and cybersecurity tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems and change management processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with network automation platforms (e.g., Gluware, Ansible, Terraform) preferred.
- Familiarity with compute virtualization networking including RedHat OpenShift and ESXi.
Preferred Qualifications
- OEM-level network certifiation (CCNA/CCNP, JCNA/JCNP, etc).
- Cisco Hyperfabric experience a plus.
- Exposure to cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.
