Role Overview
The Credit Analyst will be responsible for end-to-end appraisal of debt proposals, including detailed financial, credit, economic, and risk analysis. The role demands strong financial modelling skills, understanding of lending products, and the ability to prepare high-quality presentations and recommendations.This position works closely with internal deal teams, lenders, and clients to ensure accurate assessments and seamless execution of debt mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Risk Analysis
- Undertake appraisal of proposals for debt raise across SMEs and corporates.
- Conduct detailed financial feasibility studies including:
- Financial modelling
- CMA preparation
- Ratio analysis
- Cash flow analysis
- Evaluate borrower creditworthiness through historical performance, projections, and industry benchmarking.
- Identify early-warning indicators, risk areas, and suggest mitigation strategies.
- Presentation & Reporting
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations such as:
- Pitch decks
- Investment memos (IM)
- Detailed credit notes
- Teasers
- Draft executive summaries capturing the essence of the proposal and key analytical outcomes.
- Client Advisory & Coordination
- Understand client business models, capital requirements, and financial health to provide advisory inputs.
- Participate in client meetings to assess needs and gather relevant data.
- Coordinate with internal teams (BD, RM, Legal) to ensure end-to-end execution of proposals.
- Banking Products & Industry Knowledge
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of lending products such as:
- Working Capital (CC/OD)
- Term Loans
- LAP / Structured Finance
- Stay updated with RBI guidelines, banking norms, and credit regulatory frameworks.
- Data & Documentation Management
- Gather, organize, and analyse data required for credit appraisal.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready records for all evaluations and decisions.
- Ensure completeness of application files, offer letters, and sanction notes.
- Compliance & Monitoring
- Ensure all assessments adhere to internal credit policies and regulatory norms.
- Monitor existing credit exposures and update limits when required.
- Track portfolio performance to identify changes in risk profile.
