ISS STOXX is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESG Research Analyst to join our Norm-Based Research team in Mumbai within the ESG business unit. Our new team member will predominantly assess corporate controversies concerning global norms on labor rights and human rights while also contributing to our environmental protection and business malpractice analyses. Overview: The Norm-Based Research team focuses on conducting comprehensive research and analysis of corporate involvement in practices that may conflict with internationally recognized standards and guidelines, such as those outlined by the United Nations (UN) Global Compact and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. The team compiles analysis reports on over 15,000 publicly listed companies, covering the constituents of major global indices (large, mid, and small-cap). Our research contributes to investors decision-making processes by evaluating companies adherence to global norms on anti-corruption, human rights, environmental protection, and labor standards. The team is based in Manila (Philippines), Mumbai (India) and Stockholm (Sweden). The successful candidate will be trained to work both independently and collaboratively with the team across different locations, researching companies, relevant business activities, and corporate controversies. Our new colleague will work with the team to draft research reports on these companies and contribute to the maintenance of high-quality ESG analyses. They will focus primarily on corporate controversies relating to alleged violations of global norms on human rights, as well as participate in similar assessments on environmental protection, business malpractice, and labor standards. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough desk research on alleged corporate involvement in activities or practices that may conflict with international standards and guidelines, utilizing information from stakeholders and companies (e.g., Annual Reports, sustainability reports, and company websites), and engaging in dialogue with relevant parties. Monitor ESG controversies, contribute to standardized research reports, and participate in peer review processes to ensure comprehensive and timely coverage. Company Secretary (CS) executive is one of the legal representatives of a company to perform and manage various regulatory functions. Company Secretary also plays a definite role as a Business Advisory to the Board of Directors by guiding them incorporate laws; corporate governance; strategic management; project planning; capital markets & securities laws. In short; a Company Secretary works as an in-house legal expert and compliance officer with the company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Previous experience of working for listed companies is mandatory. Advising on good governance practices and compliance of Corporate, Governance norms as prescribed under various Corporate, Securities and Other Business Laws and regulations and guidelines Assists in developing a corporate and social sustainability framework if applicable Handles the promotion, formation and incorporation of companies and matters related therewith Responsible for filing, registering any document including forms, returns and applications by and on behalf of the company as an authorized representative like MOU, Sale deed, DSC maintain and record keeping of office and plant Maps, and other legal documents. Coordinate the board/general meetings and follow-up actions thereof Manages all tasks relating to Securities and their transfer and transmission Acts as the custodian of corporate records, statutory books and registers. Manages the Secretarial/Compliance Audit Signing of Annual Return where necessary and responsible for other declarations, attestations and certifications under the Companies Act, 1956, corporate laws and acts particularly relating to Securities and Exchange Board, Consumer Protection, Environment, Labour, Mergers
