We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Clinical Biochemist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical biochemistry, with expertise in both routine and specialized biochemistry. • Supervise technical processes within the clinical biochemistry section, ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), NABL standards, in-house policies, and relevant guidelines.
• Conduct daily reviews of Quality Control (QC) and patient results, perform monthly QC data analysis, and make decisions regarding the calibration, control, and acceptability of analytical runs. Implement corrective and preventive actions for any deviations, non-conformities, or outliers.
• Conduct reviews of proficiency testing and External Quality Assessment (EQA) programs. Implement corrective and preventive actions for any deviations, non-conformities, or outliers.
• Oversee the maintenance of equipment, validate and verify new tests, and ensure adherence to committed turnaround times.
• Design and implement procedures/protocols for method verification/validation in accordance with the requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements, standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Monitor quality indicators and conduct risk assessments.
• Ensure the accuracy of reports through rigorous delta checks and quality assessments.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, safety standards, and turnaround times.
• Prepare the department for internal and external audits, ensuring that all practices and documentation meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Address queries from clients regarding tests and reports, and provide patient counseling when necessary.
• Handle critical call-outs to attending physicians/staff and conduct outpatient report discussions.
• Resolve technical issues promptly and effectively.
• Provide on-the-job training for staff to ensure compliance and enhance skills.
• Ensure efficient material consumption and inventory management, minimizing wastage, and supervise the Purchase requisition in the section.
• Stay current with advancements in clinical biochemistry through participation in Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, conferences, webinars, and training sessions.
• Engage in professional activities to improve laboratory practices and enhance interactions with physicians, contributing to overall laboratory excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement new procedures, policies, and research protocols.
• MBBS, MD Biochemistry with at least 5 years of experience in Clinical Biochemistry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Training in ISO 15189:2022, is preferable
• Proven ability to analyse complex scientific data and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
